DAVID ADAMS / CO-FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT, RED CHOCOLATE™

It was David’s lifelong love of artistry that led him to a career in hairdressing—and ultimately, as a globally known and respected specialist in color. In both his past position as technical artistic director for Aveda Corporation and his current role as cofounder and president of the newly formed redCHOCOLATE, David sees his role as twofold: To create work that speaks to the hairdresser through inspiring images, and to provide education that sustains the artist within him or her.

Alongside his world-renowned technical and educational work, David Adams is also held in high esteem among the art, fashion and music worlds, garnering an enviable list of celebrity clients that includes Björk, Brenda Blethyn, Cher, Claudia Schiffer, Heather Graham, Jude Law, Kylie Minogue, Peter Gabriel, Sadie Frost, The Spice Girls and Sting. David has also worked for such fashion greats as Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Balenciaga, Miu Miu and Prada.

David’s goal with redCHOCOLATE is to inspire and develop the hair color professional while supporting salons with the holistic systems required to expand their hair color and texture businesses.

VIRGINIA MEYER / CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Virginia Meyer is a respected 20-year salon industry veteran and a passionate advocate of beauty-industry education. Beginning her career in the salon, Virginia has experienced all aspects of running and managing a successful business—including sales, distribution, development and education—the latter of which led to her role with the Aveda network, where she remained for 17 years. For seven of those years, Virginia was vice president of education, leading the vision and strategy for Aveda technical, creative and business education.

Virginia’s mantra is “good to great.” She is passionate about creating the condition that allows colorists and salons to step into their vision of excellence; in her new role with redCHOCOLATE, Virginia is responsible for day-to-day running of the company, overall strategy, vision and operations.

DAISY COLINA / HAIR COLOR EDUCATOR

Daisy Colina’s steely work ethic, respectful yet fun-loving approach, and commitment to technical growth makes her an in-demand educator.

Daisy has been in the hair industry for 22 years. She has been with Aveda for 14 of those, and has been involved with the Purefessional program since 2002. She credits her success to her list of great mentors, including Ana Karzis, David Adams, Lupe Voss, as well as Ray Civello, who mentored Daisy in business. She has been featured as a guest artist and facilitator coast-to-coast in the United States and Canada, and in Japan, Korea, and Italy. Daisy was part of the creative team responsible for the 2007 Spring/Summer Portfolio Trends Collection “Vivid Manifesto” and has also supported many Master Jams and Congress shows.

Daisy runs a successful salon and Lifestyle Store in Vancouver, where she services a large clientele and mentors new talent. She sees her new role at redCHOCOLATE as an opportunity to continue raising the bar when it comes to hair color education.

STEFANIE FOX / HAIR COLOR EDUCATOR

Stefanie’s curiosity and natural ability to put people at ease make her an easy-to-connect with educator with a high level of commitment to everyone in the classroom. Stefanie has trained intensively in the education operations, and technical disciplines of the craft. She is a certified 4mat Learning Instructor and has completed numerous graduate level programs in business management and marketing. She has worked with the Aveda Corporation in sales and as an educator, where she worked directly with salon owners and teams in improving their business performance through implementation of excellent business systems.

In her work with redCHOCOLATE, Stefanie’s passion is to support salons in creating remarkable results in the hair color category. She views her work as building more successful salons through developing the creative and business potential of each hairdresser.
